1 to 1 Yoga Therapy & Wellness Coaching

(Online Zoom offerings available.)

Individual Yoga therapy is tailored to address the client’s specific goals while considering the client's unique body composition, limitations and their chronic or recurrent health challenges and its scope goes much further than a yoga class which is much more general. The practices that a yoga wellness coach recommends can include gentle movements, no movement at all, a vigorous physical routine, a relaxing breathing technique or meditation or any combination of yogic tools like these. It all depends on what the client needs to increase their health and well-being. Yoga wellness coaching takes the form of a one-on-one relationship, though it can take the form of a small group. Individual sessions are 60 to 90 minutes in length. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, every other week or once a month depending on the goals and needs of the client. Research supports implementing support tools for 6 months which creates long term effects. Possible recommended tools may include; food plans, cooking together, hebs, cleansing practices, morning and evening routine adaptions, yoga asanas(movements), relaxation and restorative yoga, energy awareness and pranayama(breathing practices for revitalizing prana life force), positive affirmations, visualizations, introspection, reflection, journaling, mindfulness, relationships, community connection and more. Homework will be given.

Ayurveda & Nutrition Counseling

The word “Ayurveda” is derived from Sanskrit and means “science of life or the knowledge of life” In Ayurveda, there’s an underlying belief that everything in life is connected. Ayurvedic counseling relates to behavior and lifestyle changes to improve our physical and mental wellbeing. To restore health and wellness we implement the concept of balance. A plan may include food, spices and herbal counseling and food implementing. We balance the elements within us with food and lifestyle practices. Following the seasons of each day, year and our life brings much support. Referrals to body work therapies may also be given which makes Ayurvedic medicine so unique. Why Ayurveda? benefits include eliminating impurities, reducing symptoms, increasing resistance to disease, reducing worry, and increasing harmony and a fullfillment in life. Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga. In their original being, they are used side by side, immersed as one and not separated. It can be said that Ayurveda is for the body as Yoga is for the mind. So you may find that we will be incorporating both Ayurveda and Yoga.

Yoga Nidra the Psychic Sleep

Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. It is an ancient technique where the practitioner enters the deep states of conscious relaxation. It brings us to a state of deep sleep where our senses, intellect, and mind relax. We become free from the concept of time, space and reason. When this happens, brain activity reduces, and the body goes into the healing state. Therefore, it is also said that one hour of Yoga Nidra can give the same benefit of a four-hour sleep. As the body enters the healing state, you can clear up the toxins at a cellular level, refresh the mind and remove baggage from the subconscious.

Anyone can practice Yoga Nidra as it helps those who suffer from lack of sleep, trauma, burn-out, anxiety, cardiovascular disease, cancer, asthma, chronic diseases, psychological disorders, drug addiction and alcoholism and pain relief. Yoga Nidra holds great healing power for anyone who wants to experience a deeper sense of peace and re-connect more profoundly with themselves. The practice leads us into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here we can heal, restore and awaken to our true, blissful and eternal Self. If done regularly, Yoga Nidra can also lead to deep healing, release of negative mental patterns and release of emotional disturbances rooted in the subconscious. Wow!

A Yoga Nidra session begins by gently warming and moving the body to prepare for lying down. Once lying down in Shavasana, or resting corpse pose, The eight stages of Yoga Nidra begin; Internalization, Sankalpa/Resolution, Rotation of Consciousness, Breath Awareness, Manifestation of Opposites, Creative Visualization, Returning to Salkalpa/Resolution, Externalization. This is one of 3 therapies that yoga gifts us to support healing traumas and emotional overwhelm. This is a beautiful therapy to pai with mental wellness counseling or SRY Supreme Release Spinal Yoga Therapy. Contact Nat if you would like a special Yoga Nidra session or if a group session is desired. Blessed be! xo

“During the practice of Yoga Nidra,

one appears to be asleep,

but the consciousness is functioning

at a deeper level of awareness.

For this reason, Yoga Nidra is often

referred to as psychic sleep or deep

relaxation with inner awareness”.

- Swami Satyananda
